Abstract

In a vacuum interrupter contact formed with an annular ridge 11 extending towards the other contact and divided into segments 13 by intervening slots 12, the slots and segments are curved over at least the major part of their length and have an inclination to the contact axis which increases towards the contact surface to provide a more uniform resilience than straight sided segments. Several arcuate slots may be cut simultaneously, in up to 4 contacts, by a method using cylindrical cutters. <IMAGE>
