Abstract

A guide system for the photographic or photochromic film 20 in an optical data recorder consists of a gap through which the film is passed, air cushions being provided between the film and the sides of the gap so that the film is maintained substantially at the centre of the gap. The system eliminates scratching of the film and prevents film flutter or twist. <IMAGE>
