Abstract

Sept. 28 Inflatable garments; pads.-For supporting loads on the person, one or more pneumatic pads are attached to a garment in such a position as to form a protecting-cushion for the wearer. In one method, two shoulder pads p and one back pad] P, of rubber and enclosed in pockets on; the garment, are connected by tubes t, T and inflated through mouthpieces M provided with non - return valves. The tubes may be sufficiently large themselves to constitute pads. The pads may be ventilated by corrugating the sides which contact with the body. An additional pad may be fixed inside the coat at the region of the waist-belt.
