7816. Huybrechts, J. Nov. 20. Air tubes and chambers.-In pneumatic tyres of the type comprising separate sections in communication with a common inflating- passage, there is free communication between, the sections and the inflating-passage under normal running conditions, but a damaged section is automatically isolated. Each section 1 communicates with the inflating-passage 7 through valves 19 which, under normal conditions, are held off their seatings 21' by springs 20 allowing free circulation of the air through passages 21. When a section 1 is deflated, the excess pressure on the face 23 of the valves closes them and isolates the section. Each section is also provided with an ordinary check valve 8, by which it can be inflated, and the passage 7 is supplied with air through another ordinary check valve.
