Abstract

24,449. Groves, H., and Wharton, G. Dec. 22. Capping; eyes. - A tapered cap consisting of two members E, E', and rings H is provided with two pins F, F<1>, one carrying a roller G, and the other an eye round which the rope is spliced. The splicing is tapered, and is received between the members E, E' of the cap. According to the Provisional Specification, the tapered portion of the rope is produced by laying the strands along a tapered core and then wrapping.
