Kinematograph apparatus.-Toprevent firing of the film at the gate in the event of the feed being stopped by breakage of the film between the gate and the winding-on spool, a safety shutter is operated by the tightening of the slack portion of the film. The slack portion e deflects a bell-crank lever g, the arm j of which closes a contact l or opens a circuit normally closed. The closing or opening of the circuit operates a safety shutter by any suitable means, so that the light is cut off.
