Abstract

4179. Roberts, E. J. Feb. 27, 1912, [Convention date]. Sheet-registering devices.-An adjustable sidegauge for guiding the sheets into the feeding- rollers of printing-machines comprises a block A fixed upon the feeding-board and provided with a rotatable nut having a hand-wheel C, in combination with a sliding member D provided with a screw G in engagement with the. nut, a footplate J<1> vertically adjustable on the front plate E of the sliding member, and a gauge-block N mounted on the front plate. The slide D is locked in adjusted position by a clamping-nut h on a screw H<1> projecting from the fixed block A and passing through a hole in a wedge-shaped bar H which lies in a slot d in the slide D. The foot-plate J<1> has an upwardly-projecting screw K and adjusting-nut K' thereon, and is pressed down on the board by a flat spring k. The gauge-block N is held in recesses in the back of the plate J<1> by springs 0, P, Fig. 7. Gauge markings may be provided as at S on the block A to be observed through transparent plates S<1> on the slide D, or on the hand-wheel C to read with the end of the bar H.
