Abstract

22,559. Davis, F. J., and Taite, J. C. Oct. 3. Boat-disengaging gear.-Relates to boat-disengaging apparatus such as described in Specification 3313/90 in which a two-part hook 1, 2, having the mousing-part 2 slidable relatively to the other, is provided with a locking-member 4 which engages with a stop 6 on the fixed part 1. The invention consists in providing an additional locking-member which must be operated before the mousing-part can be opened. This member consists of a bent bifurcated link 9 pivoted at 10 to the part 1 and provided with shoulders 12 which engage with the recessed part 13 of the movable portion 2. The locking-members are released in sequence by pulling on a cord 15 attached to the locking-member 4 and passing through a ring 14 on the member 9. In modifications, the locking-member engages with a recess formed at the junction of the movable part and the first locking-member, or it engages only with a recess in the first locking-member.
