Hooks, safety, slip, and like.-An adjustable coupling for chains &c., particularly for use with the skid-pans of vehicles and draw chains of agricultural implements, comprises a bara formed with several recesses 1, 2, 3, into any one of which the link at the end of one portion of the chain is placed. The recesses are closed by a locking-bar b fastened by a hook or link c, which is retained in the locking position, shown in full lines, by the hook or other fastening provided on the other portion of the chain, which is attached to a hole e.
