Abstract

17,886. Lynde, F. C. Aug. 2. Seal fastenings; stud-and-slot fastenings.-In a fastening for boxes &c., a lever e mounted upon a plate b on the lid engages a hook member attached to a side of the box and projecting through a hole c in the plate. Upon the plate is also mounted a bracket g provided with a hole h, which corresponds with a hole f in the upturned end of the lever and through which a suitable sealing cord or wire can be threaded or a rivet of lead or the like inserted. The plate b may be raised at k, under the lever in the locking position, to prevent unfastening on shaking; and the projecting head of one of the bolts l may form a stop. The bracket g may be formed as a side projection of the hook j.
