Abstract

14,095. Schulz, W. June 16, 1911, [Convention date]. Swivelling joints.-In metal or other pipe sections connected together by swivelling joints arranged at different angles, the joints are similar and each comprises a tubular member shown in Fig. 2. This member is screwed into the joint-member 6 and its bead or flange 10 depending from the overlapping rim 11 of the sleeve 12 is received by the annular groove 9 in the seat 8 of the other joint-member 5. A gasket 14 surrounds the flange 10 to form a tight joint, and a spring wire 15 holds the gasket against the joint-member 5. A screwthreaded cap 16 permits access to the joint. Each joint is provided with a set-screw 18 which engages with a recess in the free end of the sleeve 12.
