Rotary stirrers. - In an ice-cream freezer, adapted for use as a water-cooler, the agitator, which may be driven through mechanism 11, may consist of upper and lower radial arms 25, 26 connected by vertical rods 27. A rotating shaft 12<a> carries the agitator and also scrapers 29. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which the mechanism 35 for driving the dasher is mounted on a support 36, which carries the driving-shaft 37. To facilitate the removal of the mechanism, the support 36 has a reduced end which enters a socket 40, and the shaft 37 is mounted in a removable bearing 38.
