13,675. Strong, E. C. June 8. Diamond tools.-In a diamond - holder f o r trueing emery - wheels &c. the e diamond is flexibly mounted to minimize abnormal stresses and permit selfadjustment. In t h e form shown in Fig. 1, the diamond F protrudes through the screwed cap C under pressure of the spring D below the plug E. The cap C and plug E are fixed against relative rotation, and the cap C may be adjusted on the stem A to vary the spring pressure. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the cap C is fixed against rotation and held in position by the spring D connected thereto and engaged by a nut G by which the tension of the spring is varied. The coils of the spring may be opposed in direction to the thread of the nut G. The seating of the diamond may be of soft material such as copper. In another form, the cap C may be fixed and a suitable opening provided for the insertion of the spring, diamond, and seating.
