Multiple fastenings for boxes.-A box lid c, which is completely detachable, is secured by a slidable rod a mounted on its inner side and provided with a hook g. The lid is fastened by first sliding the rod a, so that the hook g engages a block h secured to the box, and then engaging a hasp e carried by the other end of the rod a in a lock f on the box. The hook g and block h may be replaced by a slot on the end of the rod a engaging a pin on the box. For circular boxes, the rod a is pivoted or fixed to the lid and brought into engagement with the block h by rotation.
