Abstract

8223. Noad, A. C. April 5. Atmospheric gas burners.-In a gas regulator of the kind in which gas is supplied to a hollow member B and from which it escapes through one or other of a number of perforations of varying sizes, or one or other portion of an elongated slot varying in sizes at different points in its length, the member B is of spherical formation. The hollow spherical ball is held in position in a cavity at the end of the plug A by means of a semi-circular band C which fits in a similarly-shaped groove in the ball. Resilient washers E' are provided for the securing screws E. The thumb-screws B<4>, Fig. 4, may be provided with ribs B<7>, B<8> for indicating the positions of the perforations in the ball. The band C may be replaced by a cap fitting over the upper half of the ball.
