Abstract

3721. AbbÚ, M. F. March 9, 1909, [Convention date]. Ball mills; wet grinding.-Pebble mills with tapering barrels or shells 10, more particularly adapted for wet grinding, are fed through an opening 24 at the widest part of the shell where the grinding capacity is greatest, by a helical conveyer 19 contained in a casing 18 surrounding the mill at its widest part. The outermost convolute of the conveyer is provided with a replaceable scoop or mouthpiece 22, which dips into a trough 23 containing the material to be ground. The casing 18 is bolted between flanges 20 on the shell, and the discharge nozzles 16 fitted in the trunnions 11 are provided with grates 15. Mills witb shells of single conical form are similarly fed at their larger ends. Specification 3590/10 is referred to.
