Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic, rubber-ring, and like cushions.-A strong metal hoop e is formed with deep continuous or sectional flanges g, either or each of which is detachable, and is secured on the pneumatic or other elastic tyre by bent spring straps i, preferably fixed to the flanges, which are screwed or bolted to the sides or inner surface of the felloes. Additional stronger straps may be used and may be secured to the felloes between abutting sections of the flanges by pin-and-slot connexions to allow radial movement of the hoop. When the hoop is rectangular in cross-section, wood packing pieces may be provided to form a curved bearing-surface for the periphery of the tyre.
