Abstract

7647. Myers, R. P. March 31. Electro -magnetic interrupters. - Two sets of coloured lights for advertising purposes are switched in and out alternately by a slowlyacting interrupter comprising two solenoids B, b<1> which operate a cross-bar d, pivoted at a point d' and governed by a double-acting dash-pot G. A rod E, fixed to the bar d, operates the top-heavy lever F, which engages each of a pair of projections on the contact-bar A in turn. The solenoid circuits are reversed automatically by the movements of the contact-bar. Heavy balls h<1> in a tube H move with the bar A and establish firm contact. Carbon contacts may be employed in view of possible arcing.
