Abstract

190,826. Darrah, W. A. Oct. 3, 1921. Stationary batch-mixers with rotary stirrers.- A process for mixing dough consists in causing finely divided flour to fall with a mist of water into a mixer and cooling the dough during mixing by a current of air or other gas passing through the beater frame-work. The flour is fed from a hopper 31, the bottom of which consists of a constantly agitated sieve 20. The, flour is moistened by water sprayed from nozzles 18 and falls into the bowl 11 in which a rotary beater 5 works. The frame-work of the beater is hollow and air &c. is supplied through a gland 13, the bars 6 being provided with holes 16.
