Radiations, treating diseases with; pads.-Minerals with a low degree of radio-activity, such as radite, are employed for the treatment of disease by enclosing them in the powdered form between two sheets of retaining-material, one of which is penetrable by the rays. The retaining-sheets are fastened at their edges and quilted. In the case of wounds &c., a sheet of mica may be interposed between the pad and the affected part or, according to the Provisional Spe cification, may form one of the retaining-sheets. For treating the elbows, pads in the form of double sleeves may be used.
