Ventilating.-For ventilating railway and other vehicles, air blown in through the open end of an appliance A by the atmospheric current is distributed by the diffusers F of a hinged part B, which is adapted to be opened and closed by means of a lug G.. An opening J allows water and the like to escape. As applied to a railway carriage, the ventilators, arranged on the two sides to face in opposite directions, provide an inlet for fresh air and an outlet for foul air. In Fig. 1, the part B is shown in its closed position ; in Fig. 4, it is shown open.
