Abstract

19,046. Taylor, T. Aug. 30. Figured fabrics; double fabrics. -A figured fabric is woven in an ordinary loom having one or more warp beams and employing two shuttles, the warps being operated by means of a jacquard, which works so that a portion of the warp is interwoven with the weft from one shuttle and forms a figure or pattern, while the other portion of the warp is interwoven with the weft from the other shuttle and forms the ground. The weft threads are of one colour or shade, but one is spun the reverse way to the other, and the warp used in forming the figure may be spun the reverse way to that forming the ground.
