Pressure -r e g u l a - ting valves; diaphragm valves; lift valves. - Relates to valves which may serve as reducing, non - return, auto - matic or emergency stop, or hand stop valves, and to auxiliary valves for use therewith to effect an automatic stop of the main valve. Fig. 1 shows the main valve, and Fig. 2 the auxiliary valve, which is connected to the main valve by the small pipe 46 and by the pipe 44 to the boiler. The valve 2, Fig. 1, controls the inlet to the casing and is pressed by the spring 16. The piston 21, arranged in the fluid-pressure chamber 11, is adapted to close the valve 2 automatically or manually. The hand-wheel 30 may, through its screw 27, exert a pressure on the piston 21 to close the main valve. The auxiliary valve comprises for alternate control the diaphragm chamber 32 and the spring-pressed valves 35, 36. The hand-wheel 47 controls manually the valve against the pressure of the spring. The diaphragm chamber 32 is connected with the outlet side of the main valve. Suitable draining- devices are provided. In a modified form of main valve, a dash-pot is connected with the main valve 2, and a piston as before effects the closing of the valve.
