Abstract
21,419. Hall, R. F. Sept. 18. Forks; frames.-Back-fork ends for bicycles &c. are each formed of two longitudinal parts b, c secured at b<1>, c<1> to the chain stay e and back fork d respectively. The two parts are recessed at b<2>, c' to receive the head i<1> of a central chainadjusting bolt i, and they are slotted at b<3>, c<3>, to allow the wheel spindle f to be moved to adjust the tension of the chain. A sleeve nut j, on the end of the bolt i, bears against a cap or plate k provided with projections k<1> for engaging recesses in the ends of the parts b, c. The part b, secured to the back fork d, may be arranged outside the part c secured to the chain stay e. The parts are secured in position when the nuts m on the ends of the spindle f are screwed up.
