12,757. Look, W. H. May 24. Tyres, pneumatic; felloes or rims.- T h e tyre is provided with a steel cover A with corrugations B at the tread to prevent side slipping. The edges D of this cover are bent outwards, and are capable of telescopic movement in the rim E, but are prevented from being displaced from the rim by the lips G. The ends of the steel cover are provided with a stepped or spliced joint H, the two surfacas of which are firmly held together by a milled screw stud I. To facilitate the placing of the cover within or its removal from the rim, an elongated opening is made in the rim in or near the lip G, which opening is normally closed by the fillet K held in place by virtue of slots k and turn keys l. This cover prevents puncturing of the tyre, and does not creep like the ordinary rubber cover.
