Vertical boilers.- A steam - generator comprises in combination a plurality o f approximately horizontal rows of water-tubes 1, of segmental shape of varying arcs arranged in the firebox 2 in two or more groups and a plurality of vertical o r approximately vertical smoke tubes 2<a> passing through the water and steam space leading from the fire-box to a common smoke-box 3 forming the top of the generator.
