Abstract

184,060. Florin, A. Aug. 9, 1921. Scrubbers.-A gas-scrubber consists of a rotatable exterior casing a which is mounted on the ends of two pipes d forming the gas inlet and gas outlet respectively. The casing contains the washing liquid and carries two concentric perforated cylinders a<1>, a<11> which rotate with it, the annular space between the cylinders being filled with washing bodies and divided by one or more partitions c, c<2> arranged parallel to the end walls of the casing and rotating with the latter. The partition or partitions leave an opening c<1> at the circumference or openings c<1>, c' alternately at the circumference and centre so that the gas pursues a tortuous passage through the casing. The washing liquid fills approximately half the casing, entering at e, and being removed by overflow or scooping.
