Gaseous-fuel furnaces.- In crucible gas furnaces in which the air is admitted to the gas stream in a vertical burner passage d communicating with the heating-chamber, the tangential, eccentric or non- radial air passages b enter the gas passage at rightangles. Figs. 2. and 5 show one arrangement where the gas passage a and burner passage d are of different diameters. In modifications, the diameters may however be the same and the passages may be tapered.
