Abstract

183,158. Michaels, J. Jan. 18, 1921. Folding tables combined with receptacles.-The cover 39 of a desk cabinet is attached by open hinges 40 to one wall 38, so that when turned back as shown the cover becomes detached from the cabinet and forms a table which rests upon the ends of slides 42 connected by pin-and-slot connections to gate legs 41 hinged to the wall 38. The slides 42 may be hung on cables 47 pursuing over pulleys 48 and connected to a weight 46 in a recess 53. The table is secured in adjusted position by thumb nuts 44. The walls of the cabinet are composed of two outer layers 55, 56 of wood, enclosing a sheet of asbestos or asbestos paper which renders them fire-proof.
