Abstract

183,113. Gelsenkirchener Bergwerks- Akt.-Ges. July 10, 1921, [Convention date]. Cooling discharged materials; discharging. -In the cooling of coke by means of a gaseous cooling-agent, the coke is discharged from the ovens into a receptacle b, which is moved bodily into a chamber d, having a connection g for the supply of a cooling- agent, for example, the waste heating-gases of the oven. The cooling-gas passes downwards through the coke and is exhausted through a pipe h leading to boiler or other plant where the heat is utilized. Each receptacle has a perforated or grated bottom, and is supported in the chamber d by a flange e. The receptacles and the lids f of the chambers d are manipulated by an overhead crane.
