Abstract

Linkage gears; tappet gears.-In an oscillating- cylinder engine wherein liquid from a tube 60 is forced past a spring-controlled valve 53, through a spraying nozzle 55, against a recessed plate on the piston where it is finally atomized before conversion into steam by contact with molten lead in the cylinder, the admission valve 61 is reciprocated by an eccentric 64 through a lever 66, and rods 65, 69. The stem of the exhaust valve 80 which is mounted in the piston carries an arm 85 which engages a stationary adjustable tappet 86.
