Abstract

Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and metal springs, and with rubber-ring and like hubs and cushions.-The tyre-carrying rim 40 is mounted on a central disc 23, between which and a hub-ring 13 a rubber cushion 15 is fitted in com. pression. Side discs 16, rigidly secured to the hub, are connected by bolts 36 forming supports for coiled springs 25 which are fitted in compression in apertures 24 in the disc 23. Preferably, adjacent springs 25 are oppositely coiled; and in a modification, the springs are replaced by rubber cushions also fitted in compression. The inner periphery of the disc 23 is spaced laterally from the side discs 16, which are fitted with facings 19 of fibre, leather, &c.
