Abstract

164,189. Dittmar, E. C. March 26, 1920. Flat extended surfaces, surfacing and polishing; burnishing by compression.-In a machine for waxing varnished flooring or like timber, the varnish is burnished before being waxed by a series of glass burnishers 9 backed by rubber pads 10 and pressure-adjusting wedges 11. The flooring strips are fed on edge by rollers 3 operating as described in Specification 159,766, [Class 95, Paints &c.], and are supported against the burnishers by a series of rollers 5. A polisher is also provided consisting of a coiled strip of cloth or webbing mounted in a rotating disc carried by an adjustable slide. Specification 160,085 is referred to.
