Abstract
162,632. Schem, M. April 28, 1920, [Convention date]. Syringes. - The canula is attached to a hypodermic syringe by arranging the mouthpiece of the syringe to serve as a stuffing - box. The syringe-barrel a is fitted with a screw-threaded mouthpiece b which receives a nut or covermember c which is hollowed to receive india-rubber or similar elastic packing-material f. The packing may be formed with an axial perforation for receiving the canula d or it may be solid until perforated by forcing the canula through it. Friction between the packing and the canula holds the latter in any desired position. A metal washer e and a rubber washer g are employed.
