Abstract

Covers.-The invention consists in filing sheets into sub-classes particularly in permanent relation so that each set of sheets may be readily inspected without disturbing the sheets of other sets, and comprises a strip of flexible material 10 divider into rectangular portions 14, 15 by fold lines 11, 12, and having an end flap 13 coated with glue for securing the strip to a backing member or folder 21. Alternate portions 14 are preferably coated with glue and are cut at 16 to form tongues 17. Short diagonal cuts 18 narrow one end of the tongues so that they may be readily torn from the flexible strip at that point. The tongues are formed in groups, the first tongue of each group being attached to the first sheet filed. Alternate portions 15 are preferably reinforced with flat stiff material. Fig. 9 shows a modification in which the tongues 17<a> are separated from each other for the purpose of filing relatively thick sheets. The filing device may be secured to the folder at the end or edge thereof. A modification is described wherein three groups of tongues are used. The reinforcing-strips may be absent and the tongues entirely severed at one end.
