Abstract

156,288. Baron, J. J. Aug. 5, 1919. Tyres, facilitating detachment of; driving- chains, adjusting.-In a rear-wheel mounting for bicycles, so constructed as to facilitate removal of the tyre, one end of the axle is connected by a chain adjuster f to a removable plate b which is secured in position by the engagement of a nose k with a groove k<1> in the fixed part and by a nut d upon a screw d<1> projecting from the fixed part through a slot l in the arm b<1> of the plate. The arm fits into a recess n in the fixed part. The chain-adjuster f carries a nut o<1> which has a collar m housed in and coacting with a recess e in the plate. The other end of the axle is connected to the fixed part i, Fig. 3. at the end of the stays on that side by a chain adjuster f<1> carrying a nut o<2> with collar m<1> engaging with a recess e<1>.
