Abstract
156,184. Seibel, H. May 7, 1917, [Convention date]. Saddles.-Consists of a pneumatic spring comprising a flexible air reservoir, tubular neck portions formed integral therewith and extending outwards therefrom and spherical bladder members formed integral with the necks and in communication with the reservoir. The reservoir is enclosed in a rigid casing, while the bladders rest on deforming members. In one form, the invention is described as applied to a motor-cycle saddle one or more pneumatic supports being arranged between the saddle top and a frame bracket 14, the bladders 35 being integral with a reservoir 46 fitted with an inflating-valve and secured by a casing to the saddle. The covering 34, made of rubber and fabric is flanged at 40, the support being secured to the casing by a flanged ring 41 and bolts 44. The neck is stiffened by a metal ring 47 held by an inner liner 48. At the lower end a deforming member 37 on the bracket 14 engages a pressed-in part 36 of the support. Certain details of the motor-cycle saddle mounting as described in Specification 144,311 are described. The invention may also be applied to motor-vehicle suspensions. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes other details of the said motor-cycle saddle mounting. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
