1533016 Precipitation apparatus SANDO IRON WORKS CO Ltd 4 March 1976 [23 May 1975 (2)] 27926/78 Divided out of 1533015 Heading B1X Apparatus for use in the recovery of polyvinyl alcohol from a waste liquid containing polyvinyl alcohol, comprises a mixing tank 205 for mixing the waste liquid and a polyvinyl alcohol binder supplied via meters 204, 218 respectively; one or more reaction vessels 208', 210 each equipped with stirring means 211 and/or an air injection pipe 219; an elongate transfer pipe 207 arranged to pass through a temperature control bath 209 and adapted to deliver the mixture of waste liquid and polyvinyl alcohol binder at the temperature of the bath to the reaction vessel or reaction vessels; and one or more separators 215, 212, 217 adapted to separate the output from the reaction vessel or reaction vessels into a liquid phase and a solid phase containing polyvinyl alcohol.
