Abstract

Carburetting.-In a carburettor for enriching gas, of the kind in which the gas is passed through a constant depth of liquid the level of which is maintained by means of a liquid supply pipe depending from a storage vessel, the upper end of the tube c through which the liquid is supplied from the storage vessel a to the carburettor b is provided with a valve d<1> tending to be kept closed by a spring f but held open when a stopper h is screwed home to close the filling- opening o<4>. The gas to be enriched enters through a pipe k and after bubbling through the liquid passes through an outlet l provided with a metal grid m.
