Abstract

1525715 Forming flip top packets FOCKE & PFUHL 19 Aug 1975 [21 Aug 1974] 34468/75 Heading B8C [Also in Division B5] In a process of forming and filling a flip top packet using a turret rotatable about a vertical axis and having upwardly and radially outwardly open pockets a punch plate pushes a blank 10 into a pocket such that the rear wall 16 of the blank lies on the bottom of the pocket, the end wall 12, front wall 13 and lateral flaps 14, 15 are folded into a upright position at the radial inner end of the pocket, and lateral flaps 17 and 18 are folded upwardly from the rear wall 16. One or two cigarette blocks together with a collar 33 can be inserted over lid portion 21 on to the rear wall 16 (see co-pending Specification No. 15523/78). After the folding of the blank has been completed the packet is passed around a rotary turret arrangement (Figs. 13, 14) to allow the glue on the packet to set.
