Abstract

1524977 Printing plates CANATHANE ROLLER CORP Ltd 6 Oct 1975 [7 Oct 1974] 40787/75 Heading B6C [Also in Division B5] A magnetic laminated relief printing plate for a magnetic former used in the application of varnish ink or lacquer is centrifugally cast as an outer hollow cylindrical layer from a liquid polymer prepolymer system and at least partially cured to a macromolecular structure having elastomeric properties and an inner layer of compatible castable material containing dispersed magnetic particles is then centrifugally cast. The cylinder is cut from end to end to form a rectangular mat which can be wrapped around the roller former. The pattern on the plate may be produced by casting against a pattern, or the pattern may be cut into the mat after casting.
