Abstract

1518265 Monitoring dampening fluid E BAUCH 23 Feb 1977 [23 Feb 1976] 07560/77 Heading B6C [Also in Division G1] The pH value of dampening fluid in an offset press is monitored by connecting the fluid reservoir to a test vessel 11, Fig. 2, comprising a transparent side portion 13 and a coloured indicator reference scale 12, and inserting an indicator plate (15), Fig. 3 (not shown) through slot 14 into dampening fluid contained in vessel 11; the colour provided by the indicator plate is compared with the reference scale 12 and the pH valve thereby read off. The test vessel may also accommodate a thermometer and an alcohol-measuring device.
