Abstract

1516126 Transistor stabilizing circuits NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR CORP 28 July 1975 [6 Nov 1974] 00918/78 Divided out of 1516125 Heading H3T A four terminal network for providing a stabilized voltage or current or a buffer amplifier comprises first and second pairs of transistors connected between respective pairs of terminals and having a connection from one of the first pair of terminals to the bases of a first one of each pair of transistors and connections from the junction points of each pair of transistors to the base of the second one of the other pair. The base emitter voltages of a pair of transistors which are traversed by the same collector current are therefore in opposition in a loop and cancel one another regardless of the actual level of the collector currents. A non-zero resistance may be included in the loop across which an output voltage may be developed as in Specification 1,516,125. In another embodiment, Fig. 5, the connections include unity voltage gain current amplifiers 124, 126, 128. Provided the emitter areas of all the transistors are equal, a voltage input at 120 is reproduced at output 118, 122.
