The generator 1 supplies hot combustion products under pressure to the main engines 46, and steam from a jacket 17 and coil 27, in series therewith, two auxiliary engines 22 coupled to air compressors 20 providing the necessary pressure air for combustion. The exhaust from the engines 22 is condensed at 54 and recirculated by the pumps 17<1> through the compressor and main engine jackets into the jacket 17. The steam and combustion products are generally at different pressures, but they may be equalized if desired by a valve-controlled connexion.
