Abstract

1515527 Electrical component assembly INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 29 July 1975 [5 Aug 1974] 31733/75 Heading H1R [Also in Division H2] An assembly generating accelerating voltage for a CR tube of a TV receiver from horizontal scan flyback pulses comprises a horizontal scan output transformer, pulse energizing a capacitor-diode voltage multiplier cascade assembled as a unitary structure with the transformer. Horizontal scan output transformer 1 (Figs. 1, 2) having primary and secondary 2, 3 on opposed legs of a core energizes a voltage multiplier capacitor-diode cascade having plural wound capacitors assembled into a multiple high voltage roll 4; the dielectric being of two polystyrene foils separated by a polyester foil and the electrode foils being baked in during stretching. The capacitors are wound one on top of another and terminals are inserted, and the multiple roll surrounds winding 3. Voltage multiplier diodes are positioned externally of the multiple roll with their axes parallel to the axis thereof and the secondary winding, diodes, and capacitor roll are encapsulated in a casting resin to form block 10; the diodes being enclosed by bulges 11 which enlarge the heat dissipation surface. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) the capacitor-diode roll is positioned on a disengaged leg of the core, or on the leg opposite that of the primary and secondary windings, which are superimposed. The entire assembly is resin encapsulated.
