Abstract

1512783 Sound reproducing circuits LUCAS ELECTRICAL Ltd 8 May 1975 [21 May 1974] 22531/74 Headings H4J and H4R A road vehicle audio system has a loudspeaker driven by a main amplifier which also feeds a second amplifier incorporating a low pass filter. A further loudspeaker is driven by the second amplifier. Preferably the main amplifier is stereophonic and feeds two stereophonically related loudspeakers. A cartridge or cassette player or radio 41 feeds a stereophonic amplifier 42 whose outputs are applied to loudspeakers 43, 44 positioned under the front seats of a road vehicle as described in Specification 1,404,316. A bass boost amplifier 40 having a low pass passive filter and a feedback path which provides a low pass active filter is connected between the outputs of stereophonic amplifer (42), (see Fig. 1, not shown) and a loudspeaker 36 located virtually anywhere in the vehicle. A potentiometer (18) in amplifier (40) (see also Fig. 1) sets the level of sound from speaker 36 relative to the sound from speakers 43, 44. Volume control 42a of amplifier 42 affects the sound signal from loudspeaker 36 and tone controls 42b may also affect this sound signal. The amplifier 40 is described and claimed in Specification 1,512,784.
