Abstract

1511313 Monomooring terminals TECHNIGAZ 4 Aug 1975 32559/75 Heading E1H [Also in Division B8] A monomooring cargo transfer terminal comprises a tower 2 supporting either a cargo transfer boom for connection to a manifold on a ship or vice versa and a mooring point which is entirely separate from the tower. In a first embodiment (Figure 1) the mooring point 14 is provided on a rotary turnable on the top of a buoy 3 surrounding the tower 2 and which is anchored by a plurality of pairs of crossed and interconnected anchor chains 8. The buoy carries a fender around its inner periphery which is constituted by a plurality of solid resilient buffers or inflated pneumatic tubes. In an alternative embodiment (Figure 8), the mooring point 113 is carried by an arm 110 carried by a rotary turntable 112 mounted on the top of a mooring tower 104. A protection wall 105 surrounds the tower 2 and the mooring tower 104 and carries a fender 108. A number of alternative constructions of cargo transfer boom are described (see Division B8).
