1507297 Mechanical switches EUROPEAN ATOMIC ENERGY COMMUNITY 9 Feb 1977 [11 Feb 1976] 5449/77 Heading H1N An electric switch comprises a housing 1 containing a spring-loaded slide 2 integral with a push-button 2b, n sets of contacts (three as shown), each set comprising an element 15, 15, 3c<1> carried by the slide and an associated fixed contact 3alpha, 3b, 3c, such that each element 15, 15, 3c<1> in turn engages its associated contact 3a, 3b, 3c as the slide moves away from its initial position, n-1 of the elements each comprising an arm 10, 11 pivotally connected at 10d, 11d to the slide 2 such that after engagement each arm co-operates with an abutment and becomes pivoted into a non-working position (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown), the contacts 3alpha, 3b themselves acting as the abutments as shown, each arm co-operating with a further respective abutment 10c, 11c which returns it to its working position when the slide returns to its initial position. The switch further comprises detent means in the form of spring-loaded catches 10a, 11alpha, 10b, 11b which retain each arm 10, 11 in the initial or displaced position until urged into the other position by an abutment. The contacts 3a, 3b, 3c each comprise a pair of contacts bridged by the corresponding element 15, 15, 3c<1>.
