Abstract
1505259 Insulating cable joints IJZERGIETERIJ LOVINK BV 11 Feb 1975 5841/75 Heading H2E A joint box for jointed electrical conductors comprises a housing formed by two releasably attached cast iron sections 1, 2, a partition 11 with apertures separating a reservoir 8 from an interior space of the housing, and a lid 9 closing the opening through which liquid resin 19 is introduced, the partition being of heat conductive material and in intimate heat conductive contact with the housing. The partition 11 shown is copper gauge. In a further embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) the section 1, reservoir 8 and partition (16) are integral. The interior space is filled with resin via the reservoir in a single step, curing heat being dissipated through the partition 11 to the section 1, thereby allowing the resin in the reservoir to remain liquid for a relatively longer time.
