Abstract

1503647 Pipe joint DOMNICK HUNTER ENGS Ltd 19 May 1975 [6 April 1974] 15363/74 Heading F2G In a quick release fluid coupling, an outlet connecting member 3 is received within a ball member 2 and selectively positionable within a housing 1 between a fluid cut-off position, and a position of fluid communication with an inlet union 5 of the housing. Preferably, member 3 is movable within an arcuate or vee-slot of a housing 1 between a first position (shown) in which it is releasable and in fluid communication with a vent 6 in the housing, and a second position (not shown) wherein it is locked by the abutment of a flange 11 with a shoulder portion of the housing, and is in communication with an inlet union 5 of the housing. A second embodiment (not shown) differs in that the connecting member is lockable in a first position by balls held between retaining rings and engaging an annular recess in the member; the balls being radially movable in a second unlocking position of the member to release said member.
